Lunate and Perilunar Dislocations.

چکیده
In his treatise on joint injuries Astley Cooper (1832) included only one example of carpal dislocation. Speed (1950) estimated that carpal fractures and dislocations comprised oneeighth of injuries about the wrist. Although they are so common carpal dislocations are often unrecognised or mismanaged (Watson-Jones 1946, Cave 1958, McLaughlin 1959, Wade 1960). There is still disagreement about the treatment of these injuries and about the results that can be expected from treatment. In this study an attempt has been made to resolve some of the points of uncertainty.

Carpal dislocations: pathomechanics and progressive perilunar instability.
The pathomechanics, ligamentous damage, and degree of carpal instability in perilunate and lunate dislocations were analyzed by experimentally loading 32 cadaver wrists to failure. Thirteen perilunate and two lunate dislocations were produced. The mechanism of injury was extension, ulnar deviation, and intercarpal supination. These dislocations occurred in a sequential fashion due to progressiv...
متن کاملIsolated Dorsal Dislocation of the Lunate
Lunate dislocations are well described in the volar direction as part of the perilunate dislocation, sometimes together with fractures of the other carpal bones or distal radius, as described by the anatomical studies of Mayfield [1]. It is a result of disruption of the complex inter-carpal and radiocarpal ligaments that hold the well conforming carpus in their normal position. Given the streng...
متن کاملLunate dislocation.
Carpal dislocations are wrist injuries and Lunate dislocation is its severe form. Lunate and perilunate dislocations are uncommon. These injuries have significant clinical impact on the patient but are easily missed and lead to potentially devastating effect if mismanaged. This case report outlines the important clinical aspects and management of Lunate dislocation.
متن کاملPartial Necrosis of the Lunate after a Translunate Palmar Perilunate Fracture Dislocation
We present an extreme rare case of traumatic partial avascular necrosis of the lunate after palmar perilunate dislocation with lunate fracture. A 32-year-old female was injured by motorcycle accident with palmar perilunate fracture dislocation and lunate fracture. Scapholunate and lunotriquetrum dislocations were reduced and fixed temporarily. The torn dorsal ligament was repaired. Considering ...
